Burnett and Sons

Burnett & Sons Mill and Lumber Company is a 138-year-old firm specializing in architectural millwork.

Our milling department manufactures a broad line of standard and custom patterns of mouldings and siding.

We supply many miscellaneous building products, including wood and composite columns, fypon shutters and gable vents, We also make custom countertops, including corian and surell.

Use our decades of experience and our familiarity with the many products we carry to get the perfect results you want in your project. We can work with any budget you have in mind. The adventure of being a part of the transition to a new century is an experience that comes to most only once in a lifetime. Burnett & Sons is one of the very few local businesses that have been able to experience this twice since our inception.

Fine quality millwork and cabinetry have been a tradition at Burnett & Sons since 1869 when Philitus Burnett and his son Henry established the business here in Sacramento. We are the second oldest business in the Sacramento area and it is quite likely that we are the oldest millwork company in the state still under the same ownership.

Since its inception, Burnett & Sons has maintained an interest in special craftsmanship and unique construction and production problems. Through the maintenance of an active training and apprenticeship program, we are able to continue the traditions of the craft. In an era of mass production, Burnett & Sons has refused to waiver from the principles of individual and custom production that are becoming more rare. Though modernization has taken place - the equipment has been upgraded with some of the most modern computerized machinery available - the company's product and reputation remains surprisingly unchanged.

Burnett & Sons offers a large variety of products and services including custom wood mouldings and sidings, architectural woodwork and wall panel products for custom high-end commercial projects - both unfinished and pre-finished, all types of casegoods ranging from modular style plastic laminated cabinets to custom designed casework and furnishings; plastic laminated and solid surface countertops, custom built wood windows and frames.

Despite our high-tech times, it is interesting to note that Burnett & Sons is still frequently called upon to re-create classic work that it did during its first decade over 130 years ago and is anxiously looking forward to the challenges of the industry in the coming millennium.
